Every day, APO members are out in their communities seeking ways to make the world more peaceful through the service they provide. That said, sometimes the nuts and bolts of managing volunteerism is harder than it needs to be – from finding the right opportunity to fit your schedule, to managing the service you are providing with calendars, lists and more. Our platform makes it easier for our community leaders – both students and alumni – to find service opportunities that fit their availability, location, interests, friends and preferences, as well as help them realize the impact of their service through tracking.
Alpha Phi Omega has partnered with Golden Volunteer, the world’s most awarded volunteer management software, to simplify the lives of our members through the APO Volunteer Opportunity Portal in Golden Volunteer! Finding new opportunities for individual members, chapters and alumni associations is EASY! There are opportunities both within APO as well as in your surrounding community that you can connect with through the app, invite others to join you, track your completed projects and share the service hours you’ve completed all in the Golden Volunteer App!
Balancing finding ways to serve that meet the needs of the local community and that fit into daily life and work/school can be hard. The use of this platform makes this EASIER!
Alpha Phi Omega is using Golden to connect our chapters, alumni members and friends in service with opportunities across the country where they can help improve the community and make the world more peaceful AS WELL AS keep track of what they’ve done for whom, where and how long. This is useful for reporting back to chapters, alumni associations, other organizations, or work.
The best part… This platform showcases volunteer opportunities identified by APO as well as by other organizations in communities across the country looking for support such as the March of Dimes, Midwest Food Bank, Youthcare, United Way, Ronald McDonald House and more! Each listed opportunity in the portal is one in need of support by community members like the brothers of Alpha Phi Omega who make giving back and creating positive change a priority in their lives.
When a member creates a Golden Account, they will immediately have access to any public volunteer opportunities in the platform which they can sort and filter by location, time slots, cause, etc. This will help them identify individual and chapter service opportunities. From there, they will want to visit the APO Volunteer Opportunity Portal so they can connect to the Fraternity and see events specific to APO members such as events hosted by groups in their region or section, as well as national opportunities!
Check out the take below titled “How to Get Started” for specifics on downloading the app and connecting with APO!
