Alpha Phi Omega use the concepts of fraternalism as a means of providing assistance to others while developing close bonds of friendship among its members.
APO is an inclusive group, open to all nationalities, backgrounds and genders, and we welcome you to become part of our amazing organization so that together, we can pursue a common goal – leading through service to others. The benefits of being a member include – but are not limited – gaining leadership skills, building your resume, networking with members across the world, meeting lifelong friends, and of course, finding your passion for service.
Membership in APO looks different at each university. Members are encouraged to create their own experiences through APO by taking leadership positions, attending brotherhood events and finding meaningful service projects. Time commitment varies each semester, however you can plan on being able to find what works for you.
Alpha Phi Omega exemplifies volunteerism like no other student organization. This is why more than 470,000 students have chosen Alpha Phi Omega since the Fraternity’s founding in 1925.
If any of this sounds like something you’d be interested in, APO is the place for you.
The information below will help you find a chapter on your campus and connect with their officer, or get information about how you can bring APO a campus near you!
Help Others
Alpha Phi Omega’s service program will involve you with young and old, on campus and off. You may help with projects ranging from campus-wide cleanups to hosting a party for disabled youngsters.
Form Lasting Friendships
Alpha Phi Omega will introduce you to a diverse population of campus peers and will help you develop friendships that will last well beyond college. Any student willing to provide service, develop leadership and build fellowship is welcome no matter what organizations they already belong to. This gives them the chance to meet and work with all different backgrounds, ethnicities and genders.
Turn Ideas in Actions
Each chapter of Alpha Phi Omega develops its own program, based on the interests of its members and the needs of its campus and community. You will have the opportunity to serve as a project leader or chapter officer. This will allow you to develop new skills that you’ll use for years.
Get STARTED TODAY!
Step 1: Find out if there is an existing chapter on your campus. Use the chapter locator bar below and enter the name of the campus.
Step 2: There’s a chapter?!? Great! Fill out the form at the link below to notify the chapter on your campus that you are interested in joining Alpha Phi Omega! Once the form is submitted, the National Office will reach out to the chapter president and membership vice president to let them know you have reached out and to give them your contact information. If you don’t hear back from the chapter within 10 business days, please contact the Chapter Services Department at the National Office at [email protected] for assistance in reaching the chapter.
Step 3: Is your campus missing out on APO? Don’t worry! Click the Start a Chapter form to request permission to begin an extension effort on your campus. This form will be sent to the Fraternity and we will review whether we feel the campus and the Fraternity would benefit from establishing a chapter. This decision is not taken lightly and can take anywhere from 5 to 25 business days to receive a response. Note: Step 3 only needs to be completed if there was not an active chapter found for your campus.
