NATIONAL SERVICE FRATERNITY REACHES MILESTONE OF INITIATING 500,000 MEMBERS

Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity (APO) reaches the groundbreaking milestone of initiating 500,000 members since its founding in 1925 – an achievement like no other Greek-letter organization. APO is the single most represented co-educational intercollegiate service organization in the United States. Founded on the Cardinal Principals of Leadership, Friendship and Service, it provides members the opportunity to develop leadership skills as they volunteer on their campus, in their community, to the nation and to the organization.

Rho Pi Chapter at the University of California San Diego initiated the 500,000th member, earning them the award of a $1,000 grant to go towards a service or leadership development program to further the mission of the organization.

The Cardinal Principles, to develop Leadership, to promote Friendship and to provide Service to humanity, allow APO to further the freedom this is our national, educational and intellectual heritage. These principles set the foundation for the growth and success of becoming the nation’s premier service-based organization on college campuses today,” said Executive Director Bob London.

The Fraternity will celebrate the milestone by hosting several community service events throughout the nation at individual chapters in their local communities.
