Serving as an officer is a rewarding and challenging experience that has the potential to leave a lasting mark on the chapter and the campus for years to come.
The mark of a healthy chapter is in the functions of its officers and advisors. Delegation, organization, communication, enthusiasm and vision are key.
The Fraternity has a great deal of resources available to help officers navigate the responsibilities that come with serving their chapters and ensure they are properly maintaining the business of the Fraternity.
The Fraternity has established national reporting requirements that must be met by all chapters in order to maintain good standing with Alpha Phi Omega. Reporting of these items, as well as the maintenance of membership rosters, officer updates and dues payments, are made through the Chapter Officer Portal. The loss of good standing impacts a chapter’s vote at the National Convention and eligibility to receive awards and grants.
The resource area below is intended to help chapter officers navigate business requirements and general operations, as well as set the chapter up with best practices and strong programming.
Serving as a chapter officer is a challenging, yet extremely rewarding responsibility that will give you a set of skills invaluable to employers. Good luck!
