Important Announcement Regarding the 2021 National Convention

In reviewing the Convention registration status and student interest, the Alpha Phi Omega Board of Directors learned that many students are not comfortable, for many reasons, attending an in-person Convention at this time.  Therefore, the Board has made the difficult decision to move the 2021 National Convention, originally planned for Phoenix this December, to a virtual format.

This decision was made with regional chair input based on what they were seeing and hearing from students, the struggle to get students to serve on reference committees, the extraordinarily high cost of travel, and the low registration numbers. We know that many people were looking forward to meeting in person after so many months apart – elected leaders included! That said, the health and well-being of our members remains paramount.

While we are disappointed to not see our brothers in person, this is the perfect opportunity to bring ALL of our members together for the 2021 Virtual National Convention – a multi-day experience complete with engaging learning labs led by the Fraternity’s best and brightest facilitators; networking and fellowship opportunities with brothers beyond your chapter; and opportunities to honor and celebrate the hard work and dedication of our chapters and members; all in addition to conducting the important business of the Legislative Session.

Our dedicated volunteers and professional staff are hard at work right now solidifying the details of this virtual experience. As more dates, times and plans are solidified, the Fraternity will communicate them out via the APO Mobile Resource App, the National Convention page of the website (https://apo.org/national-convention/) and social media.

Registration will re-open early next week with new virtual registration options at zero cost to our members!

For those of you who already registered and paid for the in-person event, the National Office team will be working over the course of the next few days to fully refund the fees paid and help adjust your registration based on your intention to participate in the virtual event.

Thank you for your understanding! We hope you join us online in December!
