20 Jul NONPROFIT LEADERSHIP ALLIANCE AND THOUGHT INDUSTRIES ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP TO OFFER SOCIAL EQUITY TRAINING
- Training will help begin the conversation about social equity.
- Partners expect thousands of interested learners to engage during the month.
- The special offer comes from the partners’ shared interest in actively responding to the current racial inequities in our country.
Kansas City, Mo. – The Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, Alpha Phi Omega’s newest national partner, and Thought Industries announced an online training to help Americans begin the conversation about social equity. The Equity Journey course will be available free of charge for 30 days, beginning July 15. The course is offered by the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, powered by the Thought Industries customer training platform.
Alpha Phi Omega is excited to share this learning opportunity with our membership and is proud of the work the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance is doing with Thought Industries to move communities forward toward a more equitable world.
Through The Equity Journey, learners will explore the meaning of equity and what it looks like in society, test their own understanding of privilege and how it impacts access and learn how to advance equity in their own organizations and communities. Bob Kendrick, CEO of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, is featured in the virtual session sharing his insights about the racial equity movement happening in our world today.
“Shared understanding is always the most powerful tool for change,” said Susan Tomlinson Schmidt, President and CEO of The Alliance. “Our organization has supported cultural competency training for more than 50 years. We want to share what we’ve learned about preparing leaders to act in this space. Now more than ever, our community leaders have to be ready to guide these critical conversations and create true change.”
“This is a time to stand together, to support each other, and truly reflect on how we can contribute to a world where everyone is shown the same amount of respect, dignity and opportunity,” said Barry Kelly, CEO, Thought Industries. “We are honored at the opportunity to provide The Alliance a more engaging platform to offer this self-paced social equity training course that will help leaders develop a deeper understanding of how advancing equity can improve an organization’s effectiveness.”
Participants can access the course at https://www.courses.leaderosity.org/courses/the-equity-journey. Learners will move through the sessions at their own pace and will earn a certificate upon successful completion.
