APO Leads
Five sessions. One odyssey. Start tonight.
Leadership in Alpha Phi Omega rarely starts with a title. It starts on a service project, in a committee, in the moment a newer member asks you how something works and you know the answer. APO LEADS gives that instinct a name, a method and a place to practice.
It’s built for any member who wants to grow — chapter officers, general members, project leaders, volunteers and newer brothers still finding their place. It starts with one course you can finish before your next chapter meeting: no travel, no waiting for a date on the calendar. Just you, a screen and a version of yourself who leads on purpose.
The whole odyssey, in five courses
Here’s the whole map before you take a step. APO LEADS is five modular courses, each aimed at a different muscle, and every one of them is open to any member whether you’re running a chapter or running a single service project. Launch and Discover are available on demand right now. The rest run as requested.
- Launch — Servant Leadership, self-awareness and strategies you can use in your chapter this week. Available on demand.
- Discover — Assertive communication, self-motivation and social interaction styles. Available on demand, plus in-person by request.
- Explore — Sources of conflict, resolving it and making ethical decisions under pressure. By request, limited availability.
- Achieve — Building a team-like atmosphere and leading a chapter toward shared success. By request, limited availability.
- Serve — A weekend of project management, meeting management and delegation, practiced in a group. National Office scheduled; see status below.
Take them in any order after Launch, at any level of experience. Together they’re built to make you someone people follow whether that’s in your chapter, in college and long after.
1. Start here: Launch On Demand
Every odyssey has a first step. This is yours.
Launch is where you find out what kind of leader you already are and what Servant Leadership asks of you next. You’ll test your instincts against real chapter situations, name the skills you’ve been using by accident and leave with strategies you can put to work at the very next meeting, project or committee you touch. No office or prior experience needed.
It’s self-paced and fully on demand. Open it at midnight on a Tuesday if that’s when you have an hour. Finish the final assessment and your Launch Certificate lands in your hands immediately — download it, frame it, hang it.
Launch is the prerequisite for every other APO LEADS course. It’s also the front door to the whole program.

2. Dig deeper: Discover On Demand
Some people hear you. Discover is about the ones who don’t.
This is the course on assertive communication and self-motivation. It is about how to say the hard thing without burning the relationship, and how to keep moving when nobody is checking on you. You’ll map your own social interaction style, then start reading everyone else’s. It changes how chapter conflict sounds to you.
It lives entirely in an on-demand course built by the Leadership Development Committee for how students actually learn now, without losing what made the original course work.
Work through it on your own schedule — one sitting or five. When you’re done, a knowledge assessment asks you to put what you learned back in your own words. Finish that, and Discover is complete.

3. Bring a course to your chapter
Explore, Achieve and Discover can still be presented live — to a chapter, a section or a conference — when a certified presenter is available in your area.
Course requests are open for the current academic year. Complete the form below at least three weeks ahead, and submit one form per course. Hosting a conference with multiple courses? Send a separate form for each.
A word of honesty about availability:
- Presenters are limited. We fill what we can, and some requests can’t be filled. Requesting early helps more than anything else.
- Launch is no longer offered in person — it lives on demand in the Online Learning Center. Start Launch here.
- Discover is available on demand and in person. See Discover On D

4. Serve — Current Status
Serve is the weekend-long one: project management, meeting management and delegation, practiced shoulder to shoulder for two days. It’s scheduled and coordinated by the National Office.
There are no Serve courses on the calendar right now. When that changes, it will be announced on the national calendar on apo.org as well as through social media and other chapter communications.
