The 2026-27 National Service Week theme is Building Impactful Community Relationships: Connecting, Learning and Serving.   Every meaningful service project starts with a relationship. This year’s National Service Week theme reminds us that the true measure of our impact isn’t just what we accomplish during a single week of service, but the lasting bonds we build with the communities we serve alongside. By focusing on connection first, Alpha Phi Omega chapters are encouraged to listen, learn, and understand the real needs of their partner organizations, ensuring every project is rooted in genuine collaboration rather than a one-time act of goodwill.     When chapters take the time to truly connect with their community partners, service becomes a two-way exchange of learning and growth. Brothers gain a deeper understanding of the people and causes they support, while community organizations gain reliable, invested partners who show up year after year. This approach transforms service from a checklist of hours into a foundation for long0term partnership and mutual trust.     This National Service Week, chapters are challenged to look beyond the immediate project and ask: how can we build a relationship that outlasts this week? Whether it’s a first-time partnership or a decades-long tradition, the goal is the same — connecting with purpose, learning with humility, and serving with heart, so that the impact of our work continues to grow long after the week has ended.
