20 Mar A Call to Service from the APO National President

To all members of our Alpha Phi Omega community, I want to say thank you for your unwavering commitment to the Cardinal Principles of our Fraternity.

Members of Alpha Phi Omega respond well in difficult times because, for us, Leadership, Friendship and Service are a daily way of life.

I know that same spirit will keep our chapters strong and successful as we all work together to limit the spread of COVID-19.

Doing our part in this effort will be a tremendous service to our campuses to our communities and to each other.

I encourage every chapter to use technology and social media to meet virtually as a brotherhood to find ways to have a positive impact in your community.

Now more than ever the APO spirit of resilience and service is needed all across our nation.

Virtually connecting and serving will also help your chapter stay close and will provide a source of engagement and comfort for all members.

Without the work of our chapters thousands of hours of service would not get done for the communities and causes that need our help.

While we must practice social distancing right now there are still many ways that we can be of service beyond physical projects.

I challenge every chapter to use your imagination your creativity and your hearts to find those ways and better yet to invent your own!

This is especially important if your campus has shut down or has gone entirely virtual.

If so then move now to become a virtual chapter so that you can continue to operate and can continue to be of service to those who rely on you in your community.

Be on the lookout for an email to all students and advisors within the next 48 hours that will deliver resources to help guide chapters through virtual operations.

Also, volunteers and staff members are working tirelessly to find and to create tools and resources to help you be successful in this virtual environment.

Alpha Phi Omega was founded for moments like this.

There has never been a more important time To be a Leader – To be a Friend – and – To be of Service.

And I am grateful because I know that true to Alpha Phi Omega and its Principles you will always be.
