When to Arrive

To fully experience the Convention, we recommend arriving on December 26. This allows you to check-in at the hotel, collect materials at the APO registration desk and familiarize yourself with the hotel layout. The official kickoff is December 27 in the Marriott Ballrooms 5 & 6!

About the Convention Hotel

The Indianapolis Marriott Downtown is located at 350 West Maryland Street, Indianapolis, IN 46225 (Tel: +1 317-822-3500). Hotel check-in is 4:00 PM and check-out time is 11:00 AM.

The hotel offers skywalk (Skywalk Connection Map) access to Circle Centre Mall and the Indiana Convention Center. Additionally, it is a short (and probably chilly) walk to Lucas Oil Stadium, the Indianapolis Zoo and Canal Walk.  As a rule of thumb, the skywalk closes at approximately 11:00 PM and re-opens in the morning at around 6:00 AM.

Clothing/Attire

Dressing professionally enhances networking opportunities, fosters a sense of unity among participants, and contributes to a positive overall experience for everyone. We encourage Convention attendees to dress in business-casual attire. This can include dress pants or khakis paired with a button-down shirt or a polo shirt, blouse, sweater, or cardigan. Comfortable shoes are important there is a lot of walking, and it will be cold!

For attendees who purchased a full registration package, breakfast will be provided on December 28, 29 and 30, as well as dinner during the Celebration Banquet on December 30. A delegate appreciation dinner will be held on December 27 for voting delegates only as a thank you for their service to the organization.

  • The Alumni Luncheon on December 29 is an alumni only add-on to Convention registration and requires pre-registration in order to attend as space is limited.
