The four driving strategic objectives of Alpha Phi Omega for the coming years are sharing, growing, improving and investing. As our Board of Directors met this month and defined the strategic, long-term direction for the Fraternity, these four words became a recurring theme and it was agreed it should be our focus at all levels of the Fraternity. It was interesting for me to note that regardless of what order we put these four words in, they had meaning and the meaning could drive our collective actions. So as we journey over the coming years I would ask all of us involved in the Fraternity to ask ourselves these questions:

We might be sharing our Fraternity with non-members to
help our chapters grow or with a service partner in our community.
We might be growing APO by increasing our chapter size or by
helping to bring the Fraternity to a new campus. We might be
improving APO through a more meaningful service project on
our campus or in our community, by attending a section or region
conference, or by participating in one of the many leadership
opportunities offered on campus or through the Fraternity. We might
be investing in APO through actively staying involved as an
officer of the chapter or throughout a lifelong commitment to being
an active alumni volunteer. The answers to the above questions are
varied and many. They will be answered differently by Pledges,
Actives, Alumni Members and will be answered differently from
chapter to chapter.
Finally, as I think of sharing, growing,
improving and investing, now objectives for our
strategic direction, I see the never ending cycle that if we
actively adopt, will help our Fraternity reach its vision of
"becoming recognized as the premier service-based leadership
development organization."
